LA28 Shares New Details on Olympic and Paralympic Games Plan

Los Angeles (June, 9, 2026) – The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games today announced confirmed start and finish locations for the Road Race and Time Trial events of Cycling Road, the Road Race, Time Trial and Mixed Relay events of Para Cycling Road, the Paralympic Marathon of Para Athletics, and the location of the Main Press Center (MPC) for the 2028 Paralympic Games. 

In the Griffith Park Zone, Olympic and Paralympic champions will cross iconic finish lines set against recognizable landmarks and stunning views overlooking Los Angeles. The Cycling Road (Road Race) events on July 22–23, 2028 will start at Venice Beach Boardwalk in the Venice Zone (as previously confirmed) and finish at Griffith Observatory in the Griffith Park Zone. The Cycling Road (Time Trial) events on July 19, 2028, will start at the LA Zoo in the Griffith Park Zone and finish at Griffith Observatory. On August 22-26, 2028, the Para Cycling Road (Road Race, Time Trial and Mixed Team Relay) events will start and finish at the LA Zoo. 

The Venice Zone and Exposition Park Zone will host exciting endurance sports, framed by picturesque LA backdrops from the Pacific Ocean to the LA Memorial Coliseum. The Paralympic Marathon will take place on the final day of the LA28 Paralympic Games, August 27, 2028, with the course starting at Venice Beach Boardwalk and finishing in front of LA Memorial Coliseum.   

Later this year, the remaining full course details for all road events will be unveiled, including the Olympic Marathon and Race Walk events of Athletics; the Paralympic Marathon of Para Athletics; the Road Race and Time Trial events of Cycling Road; the Road Race, Time Trial and Mixed Relay events of Para Cycling Road; and the Triathlon and Para Triathlon. 

The National Football League’s headquarters at Hollywood Park in the Inglewood Zone will serve as the Main Press Center (MPC) for the 2028 Paralympic Games, providing a centralized hub for thousands of accredited media professionals covering the global sporting event. This same venue was previously confirmed to serve as the MPC for the 2028 Olympic Games.
