LA28 Impact & Sustainability

LEAVING A LEGACY OF GOOD IN LOS ANGELES

OUR COMMITMENTS TO THE COMMUNITY & CITY

LA28’s Impact and Sustainability Plan was developed to inspire action ahead of 2028 and create a lasting legacy for Los Angeles and beyond.

Designed to serve Angelenos of all communities, backgrounds and abilities, the Plan is organized around three commitments: Economic Empowerment, Youth Sports and a Healthy Environment.

OUR COMMITMENTS

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

The Olympic and Paralympic Games are a moment to shine–for both competing athletes and surrounding communities. Beyond the economic benefits of Games-related tourism, planning and delivery efforts leading up to 2028 will open direct and indirect opportunities for local and small businesses and drive job creation across the sports and live events sector.
OUR COMMITMENTS

YOUTH SPORTS

With support from the International Olympic Committee, LA28 is investing $160 million in PlayLA, making it possible for more kids to play and compete, regardless of background. LA28 is also collaborating with public and private partners to provide quality, affordable and accessible youth sports in the lead up to the Games.
OUR COMMITMENTS

HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

LA28 aims to expand access to a healthy environment by pursuing three strategic objectives: radical reuse, resilience and natural resource stewardship. To protect and strengthen the vibrant city behind our Games, LA28 has launched the LA28 Resilience Champions Initiative, a program to invest in a more resilient Los Angeles.
