LA28 CLOSES DROP 2 AND VISA PRESALE WITH OVER 6M TOTAL TICKETS SOLD 

LOS ANGELES (Aug. 21, 2026) –  On the heels of another historic on-sale, including a successful Visa presale, total Olympic ticket sales have surpassed 6 million, with the vast majority of available inventory sold. LA28 has confirmed the next opportunity for the general public to purchase tickets will come in 2027. Additional inventory across every sport will be released on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available inventory.* 

WHAT'S NEXT IN 2027 

All fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets in 2027 on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket maximums across the first two drops will be lifted, and there will be no limits on the number of tickets fans can purchase, regardless of whether they purchased during Drop 1 and/or Drop 2. In 2027, more inventory across more sports will also be available for purchase*. There will be no additional Olympic Ticket Draws for the general public in 2026, and the date for the opening of first-come, first-served ticket sales in 2027 is yet to be announced. 

“The demand we've seen across both drops is a powerful signal that the world is energized for LA28,” said LA28 Chairperson and President, Casey Wasserman. “We're grateful to every fan who participated, and we're just getting started—2027 will bring more inventory, more access and more ways to be part of the greatest sporting event the world has seen.” 

All fans across the globe—regardless of whether they were selected for or purchased tickets during either of the 2026 LA28 Olympic Ticket Drops—are eligible. Registration for a draw will no longer be required, but fans will be asked to create an LA28 ID to purchase tickets in 2027 if they have not already done so. More information will be announced soon. 

In 2027, fans will also get their chance to purchase tickets in the very first Paralympic Ticket Drop. 

Additionally, LA28's verified resale program will launch in 2027. When it does, the only verified resale channels for LA28 will be LA28's Official Secondary Ticket Marketplace, AXS and Eventim, and LA28’s Verified Resale Platforms. Any LA28 tickets listed for resale on any site prior have not been verified by LA28.

Fans can also register for community volunteering opportunities in Los Angeles and apply for Games-time volunteer roles on the LA28 Volunteer Crew as part of the LA28 Volunteer Program presented by Delta Airlines, the behind-the-scenes team bringing the Games to life in 2028.
