LA28 Unveils the Official Slogan of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games:
“Stars Align”
When the triumph of sport meets the city of dreams, “Stars Align”
LOS ANGELES (October 28, 2026) – LA28 today unveiled “Stars Align” as the official slogan of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Launching worldwide with a 60-second campaign film, “Stars Align” is both a rallying cry and an invitation for athletes to compete on sport’s biggest stage, volunteers to lend a hand and supporters everywhere to cheer them on when the Olympic Games open under the Southern California sun on July 14, 2028, followed by the Paralympic Games on August 15, 2028.
Alongside the Olympic motto, “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together,” and the Paralympic motto, “Change Starts with Sport,” every Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee selects a slogan that reflects its host city, region and country. Rio 2016 chose “A New World,” Tokyo 2020 was “United by Emotion” and Paris 2024 celebrated “Games Wide Open.” “Stars Align” continues that tradition with a message for every nation: when people unite through sport, the extraordinary happens.
The idea is simple: the stars align when dedication meets a generational moment. In 2028, that means athletes, coaches, organizers, partners, small businesses and volunteers bringing years of preparation to the world’s sports and entertainment capital, where supporters from around the globe will gather as Los Angeles hosts a historic third Olympic Games and its first-ever Paralympic Games. Together, they’ll create the memories people carry with them long after the Games end.
“Los Angeles is the place where dreams take flight, and the Olympics show us what’s possible when the world unites. ‘Stars Align’ is a call to action, whether you’re an athlete at the peak of your skill, a volunteer welcoming the world to these Games, or a fan cheering passionately from the stands. We can’t wait for the stars to align in 2028 so we can share this moment with everyone,” said LA28 Chairperson and President Casey Wasserman.
“Stars Align” debuts in a fun, high-energy film powered by the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ iconic hit “Can’t Stop,” bringing together unforgettable Games moments and the unmistakable spirit of LA. The film showcases the landscapes and landmarks of Los Angeles, from recognizable cultural icons like the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory, alongside the city’s golden-hour sunsets and diverse communities that call LA home.
The video is available now on LA28.org, LA28’s social channels and across International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee platforms, bringing “Stars Align” to fans around the world through the Olympic and Paralympic Movement on the road to the Games.
“The greatest moments in sport don't just happen. Athletes work their whole lives for them. In 2028, hard work meets the city of dreams. That's what ‘Stars Align’ is about. This film is just the spark for what's to come,” said LA28 Chief Marketing Officer Alex Merchán.
