LA28 Progresses Planning
with Key International Stakeholders in Los Angeles
LA28 Hosts 43 Delegates from 22 National Olympic Committees, Sharing Real Time Games Plan Updates Including the 2028 Mountain Bike Venue
With just under three years to go until the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, planning is in full swing in Los Angeles as LA28 hosts its second official Open Day for National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from around the world.
Each Open Day is an immersive experience designed to invite National Olympic Committee delegates into the heart of Games planning as the city prepares to welcome the world in 2028.
LA28’s planning and operations teams provide updates on the current status of planning workstreams, sharing the latest updates on Games delivery timelines, athlete services, and Games time logistics. Delegates also have the opportunity to visit LA’s world-class existing venues that will serve as both competition and non-competition venues. With just under three years to go, these interactions help to ensure each National Committee is equipped with the knowledge needed to support their athletes and staff in the lead up to and during the Games.
During this visit, the LA28 team was excited to share the finalized venue for the 2028 Mountain Bike events that will be held at the Industry Hills MTB Course in the City of Industry Zone within LA County. This unique course will be stood up adjacent to the Pacific Palms resort, leveraging the site’s natural topography and hilly landscape to create a state-of-the-art course that will exist before, during and long after the 2028 Games.
More than a first touchpoint, these Open Days foster a spirit of partnership. Participants are encouraged to share insights, ask questions, and form connections with LA28’s teams. Every presentation, site visit, and conversation strengthens the collaborative foundation upon which LA28 is building a Games that aims to be as inclusive and innovative as the city itself.
LA28 previously held its first inaugural NOC Open Day in May earlier this year, welcoming 49 delegates from 27 NOCs to Los Angeles. By 2028, LA28 will have held several Open Days for both NOCs and National Paralympic Committees (NPCs), including their respective Chef De Mission Seminars.
