Oakley logo, LA28 Dual Emblems, and Team USA logo

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28, 2023 - Nearly one year away from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, Oakley® announces the brand as the Official Eyewear of Team USA and Official Eyewear of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Dedicated to contributing the world’s best sport-performance and optical innovation expertise, Oakley will support and inspire athletes representing the US on the largest international stage in sport. Inspired by the Games ahead, both Oakley and Team USA are set to deliver the unexpected through new eyewear - Team USA Encoder Strike Vented, with Prizm™ Road Lenses and Team USA Heliostat with Prizm Black Lenses.

Fueled by a shared commitment to sport, innovation and cultural resonance, this dedicated launch celebrates the bond between athletes and fans, while highlighting the power of Oakley and Team USA in action. With the Games returning to Los Angeles in 2028, the collaboration between Oakley and Team USA takes on an even greater significance, being held near the brand’s HQ in Foothill Ranch, CA.

“Monumental moments like the Olympics and Paralympics are huge motivators for us as a brand,” says Corey Hill, Vice President and Head of Oakley Global Sports Marketing. “The Games are a place for us to make an impact through our daring product innovations and our amazing Team Oakley community. With so much on the horizon, we’re psyched to engage with Team USA who will bring extra firepower to our backyard as we look forward to LA28.”

To celebrate, Oakley is dropping two new pairs of eyewear in collaboration with Team USA, inspired by constantly seeking progression and expecting the unexpected. This new eyewear sets the bounds of reality as Oakley and Team USA think outside the box to design for the future and deliver to the present.

Rebooted with new colorways, Team USA Encoder Strike Vented with Prizm Road Lenses, embodies the functional, performance-based details that define Oakley’s true DNA. The eyewear features PhysioMorphic Geometry, an industry-disrupting design methodology that was first seen with Oakley Kato at the 2020 Olympic Games, elevating performance to new heights. Building on insights from Team Oakley athletes, this eyewear incorporates iconic heritage elements such as the ventilated design for optimal airflow and a fingerprint detail on the arms, symbolizing individuality.

The second pair released by Oakley, includes the Team USA Heliostat with Prizm Black Lenses, featuring a high wrap frame design and a sleek silhouette made of O Matter frame material. Unobtanium earsocks with molded-in nose pads are also included to ensure a secure fit whether training for the podium or cheering on the sidelines. Each pair of eyewear will also be accompanied by an exclusive red and blue Oakley x Team USA collectible microbag to celebrate this iconic collaboration.

Both eyewear styles proudly showcase Oakley’s groundbreaking Prizm Lens Technology, which enhances color and contrast in athletes’ surrounding environments. As the world is always evolving, Oakley’s Prizm Lens technology allows athletes to tune in color and tune out distractions, empowering them to perform at their absolute best.

“As a leader in high-performing and fresh eyewear, we are thrilled to collaborate with Oakley to provide Team USA athletes the very best as they prepare to compete in the upcoming Games,” said Peter Zeytoonjian, LA28 and Team USA senior vice president of consumer products. “This is just the beginning, and we look forward to working with Oakley as we look ahead to the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.”

During the pinnacle of global sporting events, this groundbreaking collaboration allows Oakley and Team USA to showcase their unwavering commitment to excellence as they redefine the limits of what is possible, inspiring athletes and fans alike. Team Oakley Olympians will be rocking the Team USA x Oakley eyewear throughout the 2024 Games in Paris including Women’s U.S. National Team star Trinity Rodman (soccer), 17-time Paralympic medalist Oksana Masters (cross country skiing, road cycling, biathlon), and more.

The Team USA x Oakley eyewear is now available at Oakley.com and at Oakley retail stores.
