Para Archery
The ultimate test of precision and focus, Para Archery features athletes using a bow and arrow to hit a stationary target set up 50m or 70m away with recurve or compound bows. A single millimeter makes all the difference, making for high-stakes and high-pressure head-to-head knock-out elimination matches. Athletes compete individually and as teams in two classifications: Para Recurve and Compound for archers with limb impairments in either the top or bottom half of their bodies and Para W1 for archers with severe mobility impairments in multiple parts of the body who shoot from a wheelchair. Para Archery is one of the sports in which Para archers can compete in both the Olympics and Paralympics, as long as they meet the qualification criteria. Team USA has the most successful Para Archery program with 22 gold medals and is excited to welcome the thrilling sport to Los Angeles in 2028.
