Volleyball

Founded in the United States in 1895, Volleyball is a riveting team sport where two teams of six players use their hands, arms and sometimes other body parts to pass, set and spike the ball over a net on an indoor court. Points are earned when the ball hits the opponents' court or when a team cannot return the ball in three or fewer contacts. Sets are played to 25 points in a best-of-five format, with a 2-point margin needed to win. The fifth set is played to 15 points and must also be won by two points. Athletes are in constant motion on the court, displaying explosive power and precision, setting the stage for constant excitement and action for fans.

The player on the left, wearing a red jersey and blue shorts from Team USA, extends her arms to block or spike the ball. The player on the right, from the Brazil team, wearing a yellow and green uniform, also reaches up to block or spike. The volleyball is yellow and blue. The court beneath them is bright orange.
