Sailing

Sailing is a high-stakes competition where athletes harness the power of the wind on boats or boards to navigate across open water. Sailing at LA28 consists of races across five types of equipment: windsurfing, kite, dinghy, skiff and multihull. Requiring immense core strength and balance, and quick reactions to unpredictable conditions, Sailing has been wowing spectators with high-energy, tactical performances in all Olympic Games but one since 1900. Windsurfing and Kite events will take place at Belmont Shore with Dinghy, Skiff and Multihull events sailing through the waters of the Port of Los Angeles.
Two sailors in protective gear and life vests, one wearing a red cap, lean out over the edge of their boat, gripping the rigging lines. The bright sunlight reflects off the water, creating a dynamic scene with splashing waves.
