Artistic Gymnastics

Dynamic and dazzling, Artistic Gymnastics features athletes performing gravity-defying tricks and maneuvers that include seamless combinations. Men compete on six apparatuses: floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar. Women’s competition includes the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. Across all apparatuses, gymnasts demonstrate exceptional strength, flexibility and control as they execute acrobatic tumbling passes, fluid transitions and precision landings. Men’s Artistic Gymnastics has been part of the Olympic program since the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and 2028 will mark 100 years of women's inclusion in the sport at the Olympic level.
A female gymnast is captured mid-air during her routine on the uneven bars. She is seen from above, leaping between the bars with her body sideways, arms extended, and fingers pointed. She wears a red, green, and white leotard with intricate designs. Her hair is in a bun, and her wrists are wrapped with protective tape and grips. The background features a blue gymnastics mat with chalk marks.
