Archery

The ultimate test of precision and focus, Archery features athletes using a bow and arrow to hit a stationary target set up 50 or 70m away, depending on the bow type (recurve bow or compound bow). In Archery, a single millimeter makes all the difference, making for high-stakes and high-pressure head-to-head knock-out elimination matches. Athletes compete individually and as teams and success requires focused confidence and a deep attunement to detail. Archery made its Olympic debut in 1900 and was one of the first sports to include women in competition, starting in 1904. A new mixed team event in the compound bow will make its first appearance at LA28, adding a new thrill to the already iconic contest.
A row of archery targets is shown with multiple arrows embedded in them. The targets feature the standard concentric rings colored black, blue, red, and yellow, with the arrows clustered mainly in the yellow bullseye area, indicating accurate shots.
