LA28 PRESENTS PROCUREMENT STRATEGY TO BOOST REGIONAL ECONOMY WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS

Intuit and LA28 will co-create a program to provide access to resources, mentorship and opportunities for local businesses to become suppliers for the LA28 Games

LOS ANGELES (April 8, 2026) – The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games today discussed its Procurement Plan for the first time with community leaders and business owners. The plan, publicly available now, outlines how the organization will source the goods and services needed to deliver the Games while prioritizing economic opportunity for local and small businesses across the Los Angeles region.

At the center of the plan is a target to ensure 75% of LA28’s addressable procurement spend goes to the Greater Los Angeles region and 25% of addressable procurement spend to small businesses, creating direct pathways for businesses across the region to help plan and deliver the Games and share in the economic benefits.

“Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in Los Angeles and strengthen the businesses that power our region,” said Reynold Hoover, LA28 Chief Executive Officer. “This plan marks the foundation of our work to give clarity to local and small businesses so they can seize this moment. We look forward to working with leaders in communities touched by the Games to build a stronger economy for decades to come.”

These targets set new standards for how future Olympic and Paralympic host cities can engage local and small businesses. LA28 is dedicated to building a supply base reflective of the composition of the local economy and encourages Games partners at all levels to recognize, understand and prioritize community businesses during their procurement processes.

“Through this approach, we are demonstrating a significant commitment to community business and meaningful opportunities while collaborating with industry leaders to ensure they have the tools and support needed to participate,” said Erikk Aldridge, LA28 Vice President, Impact and Legacy. “By making the process clear and accessible, we are helping more businesses compete for and benefit from opportunities connected to the Games.”

LA28 will raise awareness of procurement opportunities throughout the coming year in a variety of forums, events and activities with partners focused on supporting the goals outlined in the procurement plan. The organization is also collaborating with the City and County of Los Angeles and other regional stakeholders to expand outreach and strengthen supplier readiness.

To advance its goal of directing 25% of addressable procurement spend to small businesses, LA28 is partnering with Intuit, the global financial technology platform that makes Intuit TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks and Mailchimp, to co-create a supplier readiness program for local businesses. The Intuit & LA28 Small Business Supplier Program will provide access to resources, mentorship and opportunities for local businesses to become suppliers for the LA28 Games. This effort builds on Intuit's longstanding commitment to the LA community and small business growth. Together, the organizations will work to ensure the LA28 Games reflect the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of Los Angeles and the nation.

LA28 posts all competitive sourcing events through Regional Alliance Marketplace for Procurement (RAMP) Announcements. When visiting RAMPLA.org, the homepage provides a search feature and displays LA28’s sourcing opportunities directly beneath it. LA28 encourages those interested to register with RAMP LA and review RAMP LA at least every two weeks to stay current on new Requests for Information (RFIs) and Expressions of Interest (EOIs).

LA28 will bring the Olympic and Paralympic Games to Los Angeles in 2028, uniting more than 15,000 of the world's greatest athletes in a celebration of sport, culture and human potential.
