International Broadcast Center (IBC) for the LA28 Games to be held at Hollywood Park Studios in 2028
On May 13, 2025, LA28 announced the official location of the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This announcement was made as Hollywood Park unveiled its plans to develop Hollywood Park Studios, a new, state-of-the-art production facility. With this announcement, the IBC will be situated in Inglewood, Calif., one of the 2028 Games' Venue Cities, and will serve as the hub for global Media Rights-Holders who have acquired exclusive rights to broadcast the 2028 Games.
Before and during Games-time, the IBC will become one of the world’s largest broadcast facilities — ensuring that people in nearly every corner of the globe can experience the magic of the Games and become inspired by the greatest athletes in sport. The IBC will be operated by Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), the host broadcaster of the Games, and is expected to host up to 8,000 broadcasters during peak periods. The IBC will offer broadcasters customized space for offices, studios and control rooms, as well as other services as they work around the clock to deliver broadcast and digital coverage to the world when this historic event comes to Los Angeles.
The IBC will support both the Olympic and Paralympic Games, becoming fully operational several months ahead of the LA28 Games. Thanks to advancements in virtualized infrastructure, cloud-based solutions, and IP technologies, LA28’s IBC will be 19% smaller than Paris 2024 and 38% smaller than Rio 2016, marking a notable shift in how broadcast operations are managed. The seamless global coverage of the 2028 Games would not be possible without the successful design, development, management and production delivered to and from the IBC.
After the Games conclude in 2028, the facility will transition back to Hollywood Park, where it will be available for legacy use for studio production and operations, and will continue to serve as part of Hollywood Park’s master development plan, focusing on media, entertainment and technology (MET) for the long-term benefit of the campus.
