Blind Football (Soccer)

Blind Football (Soccer) is a dynamic and immersive team sport where four field players with visual impairments and a goalie with partial or full sight work together to dribble and pass the ball into the opposing team's goal over two 20-minute halves. The pitch is a smooth 40x20m surface surrounded by physical boundaries known as kick boards to mark the area of play and the ball is equipped with rattles. Wearing eyeshades, the outfield players rely entirely on their senses, including the sound of the ball and verbal cues from the goalkeeper, to locate the ball and navigate play. This high-tempo sport, which requires spectator silence so players can hear imperative auditory cues, displays unparalleled trust and communication between teammates sure to captivate spectators at its first U.S. Paralympic Games in 2028.
Four blindfolded soccer players are on a green artificial turf field, playing a match. Two players in yellow, green and black uniforms, wearing numbers 9 and 10, are interacting with two players in white uniforms with red socks, wearing numbers 10 and 11. The player in the white uniform with number 10 is dribbling a white and pink soccer ball. The background features a pink and purple banner along the edge of the field.
