This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2028 and United State Olympic & Paralympic Properties, LLC (collectively, “LA28,” “we,” or “us”), which is a non-profit organization, collects, uses, and discloses information that can be used, directly or indirectly, to identify you (“Personal Information”) and your data privacy rights. This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Information that we collect online and offline, such as when you use our mobile application, website or other online services, participate in events or surveys, purchase products or services, or conduct business dealings with us, or apply for a position with LA28 (collectively, our “Services”), or when you otherwise interact with us, such as through our customer support channels or on social media pages. We also describe in this Privacy Policy our handling of “sensitive” Personal Information or data, which is a type of Personal Information that receives heightened protections under applicable data privacy laws.

 

We may provide different or additional notices of our privacy practices with respect to other Personal Information collection practices not within the scope of this Privacy Policy, in which case this Privacy Policy will not apply.

Information You Provide to Us

• Commercial Information: We may collect information regarding the products or events purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies, as well as financial information (e.g., financial account, debit card, credit card, etc. collected by our third-party payment processors) when you make purchases with us.

• Professional or Employment-Related Information: We may collect information regarding your job title, company you work for, your prior work history, and other such professional or employment-related information.

• Education Information: We may collect information regarding your education history, credentials and other qualifications.

• Sensitive Personal Information: In limited circumstances and with your consent, we may collect certain information that is considered “sensitive”, racial or ethnic origin, health or medical data, political opinions, sexual orientation, citizenship or immigration status, and military or veteran status.

• Inferences: We may draw inferences from any information we collect, such as your preferences, characteristics, predispositions, and behavior.

 

Information We Collect Automatically


We automatically collect certain Personal Information about your interactions with us or our Services, including:
 

• Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information: We collect information about your activity on our Services, such as your browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interaction with our website and other online services or advertisements.

• Device and Usage Information: We collect information about how you access our Services, including data about the device and network you use, such as your hardware model, operating system version, mobile network, IP address, unique device identifiers, browser type, and app version. We also collect information about your activity on our Services, such as access times, pages viewed, links clicked, and the page you visited before navigating to our Services.

We obtain some of the aforementioned information from other sources. For example, we may collect information from affiliates or other partners, advertising and analytics providers, social networks, data enrichment providers, and other third-party information providers.

 

PURPOSE AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

• Conduct business dealings with our partners, service providers, contractors and processors, including contract management;

LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL INFORMATION

 

LA28 relies on the following legal grounds for the collection, processing, and use of your Personal Information:

• Consent (where you have provided consent as appropriate under applicable law, such as for direct marketing or certain cookies);

• As necessary for legitimate interests (such as when we act to maintain our global business generally, including maintaining the safety and security of the website); and

• Compliance with legal obligations, particularly in the area of labor and employment law, social security and protection law, data protection law, tax law, and corporate compliance laws.

 

The provision of your Personal Information is partly a statutory requirement and partly a contractual obligation.

• Our Service Providers, Contractors and Processors: We may disclose the Personal Information described above with service providers, contractors and processors who provide services to LA28, such as providers of data analytics and surveys, software and IT, cloud storage, payment processing, event planning, advertising and marketing, and client relationship management.

 

• Third Party Advertisers: We may disclose your Personal Information to third parties for advertising and marketing purposes. In some instances, this may include disclosing your Personal Information to third parties to create lookalike audiences for marketing purposes.

 

• Legal Disclosures: We may disclose Personal Information if we believe that disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law or legal process, including lawful requests by public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We may also disclose Personal Information if we believe that your actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, if we believe that you have violated the law, or if we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of LA28, our users, the public, or others.

 

• Disclosing to Advisors and Lawyers: We disclose Personal Information with our lawyers and other professional advisors where necessary to obtain advice or otherwise protect and manage our business interests.

 

• Disclosure of Personal Information During Change of Ownership: We may disclose Personal Information in connection with, or during negotiations concerning, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company.

• Among the Olympic and Paralympic Family: Personal Information may be disclosed by LA28 to organizations in the Olympic and Paralympic family, including the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (“USOPC”), the International Olympic Committee (“IOC”), and the International Paralympic Committee (“IPC”). The USOPC, IOC, and IPC will each use the data that it receives as a separate data controller to evaluate the performance of digital properties or activities connected to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, develop profiles of its fans in order to better understand fan preferences and interests, personalize its services and marketing activities and, where you have given your consent (where required by applicable law), send you direct marketing, including marketing related to its partners. • Among Our Family of Companies: Personal Information may be disclosed between and among LA28 and our current and future parents, affiliates, and subsidiaries, other companies under common control and ownership.

• Partners: Personal Information may be disclosed between and among partners that LA28 engages in joint marketing with.

• With Your Consent:
We disclose Personal Information with your consent or at your direction.

• Disclosure of Non-Personal Information: We may also disclose anonymized, aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. Anonymized or otherwise non-identifiable data is generally no longer considered Personal Information under applicable law.

You may exercise your privacy rights through an authorized agent. LA28 is headquartered in the United States, and we have operations and service providers in the United States and other countries.
