  LA28 Tackles Beach Clean Up

In celebration of Earth Month, LA28 joined Heal The Bay’s Nothin’ but Sand beach cleanup on April 16. Volunteers from across the region came out to clean up litter and debris near the Santa Monica Pier as part of Heal The Bay’s commitment to ensure safe, clean and healthy beaches for everyone.

The event was a meaningful opportunity to show gratitude for the beauty and wonder of great coastal places. Heal the Bay shared the importance of conservation, pollution challenges and practical ways to keep oceans clean.

The future of sports relies on a healthy environment and the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games can be part of the solution by integrating sustainability practices that minimize environmental impact and leverage the very best Southern California has to offer.

The most sustainable sports venue is one that doesn’t need to be built and the LA28 Games will leverage the best of LA’s venues.

Southern California beaches are iconic parts of LA living that must be kept safe and healthy to thrive. Events like Nothin’ But Sand beach cleanup are essential to maintain and improve California’s coastal and ocean ecosystem.
