Rhythmic Gymnastics

Rhythmic Gymnastics is the ultimate test of flexibility, coordination and artistry. It combines elements of dance and gymnastics in choreographed routines featuring four apparatuses: ribbon, hoop, ball and clubs. In the individual competition, athletes demonstrate their creativity and technical mastery in four routines, one with each apparatus. The group event features five gymnasts performing two synchronized routines, known for their dramatic exchanges, teamwork and seamless transitions. Performances are judged on difficulty, apparatus handling, choreography, execution and overall artistic impression. Rhythmic Gymnastics debuted at the 1984 Games and Los Angeles is excited to welcome the sport back to where it all began in 2028.
A rhythmic gymnast performs with a red ribbon against a blurred background. She is dressed in a sparkly red and nude leotard adorned with intricate designs. Her hair is neatly tied up in a bun, decorated with a matching red and silver accessory. She holds the ribbon stick high, creating loops and curves with the flowing ribbon.
