Diving

An Olympic Games staple since its introduction in 1904, Diving is a breathtaking precision sport in which athletes flip and twist into a pool from either a 3-meter springboard or a 10-meter platform. The objective is to enter the water with minimal splash, while maximizing points for execution, degree of difficulty and synchronization (for synchronized events only). Divers can compete in individual or synchronized events, in which two athletes perform the same dive simultaneously, striving to complete the dive in perfect unison. Diving showcases impressive feats of mental fortitude and captivates audiences with its mashup of technical precision and artistry.
A female diver is captured mid-dive against a dark blue background with the Olympic rings visible in the upper part of the image. She is wearing a blue swimsuit and is upside down, with her body fully extended, pointed toes and her arms positioned by her head.
